Each Friday we cut what's ready, peonies, dahlias, zinnias, whatever is at its best and forage what the farm's edges and surrounding landscape have to offer. Flowering branches, wild grasses, native blooms. The foraged material changes week to week and follows what the land is actually doing: wild bergamot in July, goldenrod and ironweed as summer turns, seedheads and branches as the season winds down. Everything is field-conditioned before it reaches you, so it arrives ready to open, not already spent.
